Juvenile Firesetter Intervention and Prevention
Instructor's Guide

Designed for professional firefighters, counselors, family court representatives and educators who work with juveniles. The primary focus is the juvenile who is suspected of being involved with fire-play behavior. Prevention and intervention strategies can be followed step by step, or used as a framework to an existing program.
This program helps participants understand fire-play behavior, the risk of continuation, and implement interventions to reduce or eliminate such behavior.
The guide is broken down into five sections. They include -- Psychology of the Juvenile Firesetter, Interviews & Evaluation of the Juvenile Firesetter, FEMA-approved Risk Level Assessment Forms, Fire Safety Education, Companion Training Program, and an appendix of FireWatch Forms and Activities.
