Part of a series designed to calm public concern about terrorism, "Biothreat: Plague" addresses the risk of this disease being used as a biological weapon.

The full-color booklet provides a brief history about plague, how to recognize its symptoms, how it spreads, and treatment options available to the public. Three types of plague are described in this booklet – Bubonic, Septicemic and Pneumonic. Symptoms of each, how they are contracted, and the steps taken to prevent and cure all forms are depicted. There also is a brief history of the plague to help trace its origins and how it has progressed over the years to become a biological weapon in the 1950s.
