A daring group of kids are ever alert in promoting fire safety. They track down homes with faulty smoke detectors or no detectors at all, and show the homeowner the importance of having and maintaining them.

"The Detector Protectors" teach kids about different types of smoke alarms and how to install, test, and maintain them in their home. Viewers will also learn how to work with their families to set up safe escape plans, and the proper way to exit a smoke-filled room.
