| SAM Safety Always Matters

Developed by leading fire safety educators, Dottie Ahbe and Terry Pluta, the SAM Series targets specific learning levels to teach children fire prevention, safety, and burn prevention.
Each activity book is designed to enable schoolteachers to incorporate these lessons into their curriculum. Lessons in each volume advance in complexity with each grade level and to assist in the development age-appropriate skills while learning fire safety for home and school.
The videos in the series are also broken into grade levels. The first video, SAM’s Lesson in School Fire Drills, shows lower elementary school children the dangers of pulling a fire alarm if there is no fire. They also learn the proper evacuation techniques and other fire prevention and safety information. The second video, Fire Drills At School, is for slightly older children. They disprove many fire safety myths, giving students the facts they need be prepared for a fire in school.
The SAM Series offers many support materials – bookmarks, certificates, pledge cards and stickers – that keep fire safety an everyday part of student’s lives.
